A range of specific numeracy activities are integrated into each session. These skills provide your child with a strong understanding of numbers (number sense). Skills include:
  • Reading and writing numbers
  • Sequencing numbers in order
  • Counting groups of objects with precision/accuracy (using one to one correspondence)
  • Recognising the number of objects in a group (Subitising - this is an important skill associated with understanding number facts)
  • Creating and following patterns
  • Learning new number rhymes and songs
  • Developing their mathematical vocabulary
These skills are incorporated in a fun, interactive and exciting way where the children learn through play. Having a strong 'number sense' is vital for future learning. It provides a base on which all further mathematical learning can build on including, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurement and problem solving to name a few.
